Thank you for all your support with promoting our summer schools to your learners and helping them make their applications. We hope your learners are as excited as we are.
Learners will find out if they’ve been allocated a place on a summer school or added to a waiting list by early May. They can get back in touch if they no longer wish to have the place, and we’ll look at allocating this to another student and we’ll let you know via your Hub Manager. If you hear that a student no longer wishes to take their place, please let your Hub Manager know.
Below you’ll find further information about each summer school including:
Please note that all of the staff and Student Ambassadors are Disclose and Barring Service (DBS) checked and this information will be shared by the event lead.

Parent/carer information session
We’d like to invite you and your young person to attend an online information evening on 18th June. This’ll be an opportunity to meet the staff and find out more about what your young person will be doing during the event. There’ll also be an opportunity to answer any questions you have.
Whilst attendance at the information evening is optional, many parents and young people in the past have found it really useful, so we do encourage you to attend if you’re able.
We will send round further details at a later date, of where you can attend this.

Everything happens on campus at the higher education institution or provider.
After the closing date (6 April), we’ll review applications and allocate places to the summer schools. The learner will be emailed by early to let them know if they’ve been allocated a place or whether they’ve been added to a waiting list. If they’ve been given a place, they’ll receive more information about the event.
It’s free. We cover the costs of all food, travel and, for residential summer schools, accommodation.
Yes. All staff (including student ambassadors) working at the event have an enhanced DBS and young people will be supervised at all times. All events have been risk assessed and created with student safety in mind.
There isn’t anything they’ll need specifically but if they get a place confirmed, the event lead will let them know if there’s anything they recommend to bring/wear such as comfortable clothes.
