Future Career Pathways: Greater Manchester

In an environment where new industries are emerging and many of the most important jobs of the future don’t yet exist, young people need to have access to high-quality labour marketing information to underpin their choices. This interactive workshop will help learners explore current job market trends in Greater Manchester, in-demand industries and the qualifications leading to exciting and rewarding careers. Here's an overview of the growing sectors that we can cover in this workshop (please state which sector in the 'further information' section on the enquiry form): Manufacturing & technology Business, finance & professional services NHS, medical research & social care Digital, creative & media Logistics & e-commerce Green Industries Session length: up to 1 hour GM Higher will need to record participation of learners in line with our funding requirements, so we will ask you to provide a register.

Your Pathway to Higher Education Y9-11 Workshop

This workshop explores the variety of Level 3 options available and the different pathways that lead to higher education (HE). It also touches on the benefits of HE and the range of courses on offer. Learners will: Recognise the importance of GCSE subject choices and attainment as a gateway to success. Gain knowledge on the variety of education options after school. Consider the right education pathway for them. Be introduced to the benefits of HE and HE options available. Length – In workshop format, this session is around 45 mins. We also have a shorter, presentation version suitable for assemblies - please see separate 'Your Pathway to Higher Education Presentation' event listing. The content of the workshop will be tiered to the year group of the learners. GM Higher will need to record participation of learners in line with our funding requirements, so we will ask you to provide a register.
