Campus Visit for Under-represented Groups

Campus Visit for Under-represented Groups

About the event

Our partner HE providers are delighted to offer bespoke campus visits for learners in Year 7 – 13 from an under-represented group.

These events provide the opportunity for learners from an under-represented group to visit a university or college campus and gain an insight into HE.

Being a bespoke campus visit, it allows the session to be tailored to specific requirements for the learners and can include a campus tour with current students, a workshop, a practical activity, and information about HE options and student finance.

Visits can be for individuals or groups and young people must be accompanied by an adult. Visits will be tailored to one specific group.

Under-represented groups are defined as:

  • students with a disability
  • students with care experience
  • young carers
  • students estranged from their families
  • students from Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities
  • refugees and asylum seekers
  • students from military families

When making a booking enquiry for this event, please specify the following in ‘further information’ and we’ll ensure it gets to the relevant team:

  • Which higher education institution you’re interested in visiting,
  • Which under-represented group the visit is to be tailored for.

GM Higher will need to record the participation of learners in line with our funding requirements, so we will ask you to provide a register.
