ASD Visit Day Y7-9

ASD Visit Day Y7-9

About the event

**This activity is now fully booked, please speak to your Hub Manager for other activities we can offer.**

This event is for pupils on the autistic spectrum, who may benefit from a day focused on exploring higher education (HE), including student support. While the event is for pupils on the autistic spectrum, a formal diagnosis is not a prerequisite.

Across the day, we’ll provide pupils with an overview of the various pathways into HE and useful information and support regarding university life, with a focus on disability. Pupils will also take part in our ‘Big Questions’ workshop, which offers a structured guide to approaching challenging academic questions.

Your pupils will:

  • Learn about the benefits of HE and find out what it’s like to study at university/in HE.
  • Gain an understanding about the pathways into HE.
  • Find out about student support in HE, particularly pertaining to disability.
  • Learn more about tackling challenging academic questions, supporting them with the transition to post-16 learning.

This session also aims to increase learners’ motivation to study within HE and increase capacity to make informed decisions about their future.

Please note lunch is not provided at this event.

GM Higher will need to record participation of learners in line with our funding requirements, so we will ask you to provide a register.
