3D Printing Industry Masterclass

3D Printing Industry Masterclass

About the event

**This activity is now fully booked, please speak to your Hub Manager for other activities we can offer.**

During this event, your pupils will explore 3D printing through digital learning and practical application, helping to prepare them for the future world of work. The morning will introduce them to Autodesk Fusion software, learning how to model and texture, and the afternoon will see them design their own product as part of an on-the-day competition. The workshops are led by colleagues who teach and study on the MSc Digital Design and Manufacturing course.

Your pupils will:

  • Improve understanding of pathways into the course.
  • Gain an understanding about manufacturing/computer aided design careers.
  • Learn about the applications of computer design and 3D Print manufacturing, and how they support a green economy.
  • Practice the skills needed to create products.

This session also aims to increase learners’ motivation for higher education (HE) by outlining the benefits, enhance their academic skills, and increase capacity to make informed decisions about their future.

It is essential that we receive a list of attending pupils 3 weeks prior to the event, so we can create guest IT logins. Similarly, pupils must be registered on the free Fusion360 software prior to attendance; instructions will be sent ahead of the event.

Please note lunch is not provided at this event.

GM Higher will need to record participation of learners in line with our funding requirements, so we will ask you to provide a register.
