Closing the Gap

Following the success of our 2026 conference, Greater Manchester Higher’s Closing the Gap Conference returns on Tuesday 26 January 2027.

Bringing together colleagues from across education and the wider sector, the conference will explore practice, research and approaches that are helping to tackle educational inequality and improve outcomes for children and young people.

Focusing on closing gaps in opportunity and attainment, the day will feature engaging workshops, practical case studies, thought-provoking discussion and opportunities to connect and share learning with colleagues from across Greater Manchester and beyond.

Attendance is free, but places are limited, so book your place now. Further programme details will follow shortly.

Call for contributions

We’re also inviting colleagues to contribute to the conference programme by submitting a speaker expression of interest. We’re particularly interested in effective practice, research, partnership working and innovative approaches that address differential outcomes.
