The Social Media Effect

The Social Media Effect

About the event

An interactive 1-hour workshop for students, designed to help young people navigate social media and AI safely, responsibly, and with confidence. Learners will explore how their online choices today can influence future opportunities, helping them develop the awareness and critical thinking skills needed to build a positive digital presence and make informed decisions online.

Students will explore:

  • Digital footprints and online presence
  • How social media influences what we see and believe
  • Misinformation, fake news and AI-generated content
  • Online safety, privacy and responsible decision-making
  • The relationship between online behaviour and future education and career pathways

Through discussions, quizzes and real-life scenarios, learners will develop practical skills to evaluate online content, use technology responsibly and make positive choices that support their future goals

GM Higher will need to record participation of learners in line with our funding requirements, so we will ask you to provide a register.
