Autumn 2020 Open days are just around the corner and here we take a look at what is going on in Greater Manchester

Manchester Metropolitan University

Virtual Open Days, (dates below)

Open days will be via faculties allowing you to get in-depth information on courses that appeal to you and the chance to chat with academics and students. You will also be able to take a virtual tour of the campus and find out about the accommodation.

Friday 2 October – Business or Law

Monday 12 October – Humanities, Languages and Social Sciences

Tuesday 13 October – Fashion

Monday 19 October – Science, Engineering & Sports

Thursday 29 October – Health, Education & Nutrition

Friday 30 October – Manchester School of Art (MSoA), School of Digital Arts (SODA) and Manchester School of Theatre

The University of Manchester

Virtual Open Day – 3 October  

You will be able to chat with academics, staff,and students, whilst also taking a virtual tour of the campus and find out about accommodation from the comfort of your own home.

University of Bolton

Virtual/online Open Events – various dates below

9 October, 10am- 2pm – this will be an online chat, facilitated through ‘The Access Platform.’ Ask questions to staff and students about courses and university life at Bolton.

23 October, 10am-4pm – this will be an open day delivered virtually. Talk to academics, staff, and students. Find out about the university campus and accommodation.

7 November & 5 December, 9am-3pm – these open days are scheduled to be on campus. However, this may be subject to change so keep a lookout for further notice.

University of Salford

Virtual Open Day – 10 October

This day will allow you to access all the events that you would find on a physical open day. Find out about the courses Salford has to offer, talk to academics, staff, and current students and find out about the accommodation available. There is also a November open day planned with the date to be announced soon!

Open Day top 5 tips

  • Attend at least one or two subject talks, sample lectures, taster sessions or department visits.
  • Attend finance and application talks where available, find out if there are any bursaries or financial support you could be eligible for
  • Make sure to talk to student ambassadors where you can.
  • Try to find virtual tours of the campus, accommodation and The Student’s Union.
  • Try to find out about the different types of accommodation if you are thinking of moving away. There will be a mix of catered, ensuite or shared bathrooms.
