STEM is not Dull!

Event providers: Wigan and Leigh College

Event Fallback Image

Although STEM subjects have a big focus on the national curriculum, employers struggle to fill their STEM positions. Not enough young people go on to study a STEM related course at university or via a Degree Apprenticeship, and as a result there is a shortage of scientists, engineers and computer coders. Kids think these jobs are boring, but we have designed these sessions to tell them they are not!

We are offering a series of workshops in Science, Computing and Engineering and the exciting careers that exist or are emerging. Teachers can choose which subject they would like to book onto and each subject has it’s own programme of sessions with a mix of live, pre-recorded and teacher led activities. The 3 subjects are Science, Computing and Engineering.

Each session will last up to 1 hour to fit in with class timetables and there will be opportunities to ask questions.
