Pre-16 Dyslexia and Other Specific Learning Difficulties Event: Opportunity to… think about your future
Event providers: University of Salford

This visit day offers an introduction to higher education and information about the specific support available. Learners will have the chance to meet university students who have similar backgrounds and can talk about their own experiences and share an insight into student life.
This event is for year 10-11 learners who have dyslexia or another specific learning difficulty who would be interested in studying a degree, or have the potential to study a degree, but are unaware of the support available.
We aim to provide learners with an overview of higher education, with light tough information about the finance and entry requirements. The day will offer:
- A HE Uncovered workshop
- Student support talk delivered by our Disability Support Team
- A virtual campus tour led by current students
- A study skills session
- A student Q&A panel including students who access disability support, to discuss their student experience
- An alumni speaker to discuss their journey to HE and beyond (to be confirmed)
