Maths Club @ The University of Salford

Event providers: University of Salford

Maths club logo

A day of practical, tried-and-tested Maths activities, full of interesting approaches that engage students across the ability range; even reluctant learners.

As they approach GCSE assessment, learners in Y10/11 will complete challenging activities in small teams, tailored to:

• develop and improve problem-solving skills
• fill knowledge gaps
• build confidence and resilience
• strengthen understanding of key topics

This year we are running Maths Club with raising attainment as the core focus over a number of sessions (around 3) per learner group. The sessions can be full or half days, and Angela, Maths Engagement Practitioner will be able to work with you either in school, or on-campus at the University of Salford (remote sessions available on request). As this programme will now be linked more closely to attainment raising schools will be required to work with Angela before the commencement of Maths Club to carry out tests to identify potential gaps in knowledge, before testing again at the conclusion of the programme to measure the impact of the activities.
