LOST IN TRANSLATION – Modern Foreign Languages – HE Taster Day
Event providers: Ashton Sixth Form College
Lost in Translation aims to encourage year 9 students to explore the opportunities available to them through studying a language at A-Level and Higher Education.
Greater Manchester Higher are collaboratively working with Ashton Sixth Form College (providers of FE & HE courses) who are extremely passionate about encouraging young people to study a language and hope that you will support us in doing this.
Lost In Translation – French
Students will experience a taster session in French, with an additional session in Arabic too. The aim is to inspire students to see the incredible benefits of studying a language and allow them to understand the vast range of growing careers available because of languages.
We have also invited Dr Erin Carrie a Senior Lecturer from MMU who specialises in linguistics to deliver an exciting session on the use of language, accents and dialects. She will also explore the uses of linguistics in a number of extraordinary careers.
