In2scienceUK – STEM Work Experience for Year 12 students

If you’re thinking about how to support your Year 12 (or equivalent) students with their UCAS or apprenticeship applications next year, this is a great opportunity that will help their applications stand out.
In2scienceUK is a charity that supports young people from disadvantaged and under-represented backgrounds to access careers in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM). The In2science summer programme is free for current Year 12 (or equivalent) students from low-income and disadvantaged backgrounds.
The programme consists of an in-person work experience placement in a STEM subject, live online workshops, competitions and events. By participating in the programme, students gain hands-on experience working with leading scientists, researchers and STEM professionals, and expand their personal and professional skills.
After participating in last year’s summer programme:
- 87% of students reported feeling more confident
- 86% of students reported that the programme made them more sure of their career aspirations
- 72% of students felt confident they could write a high-quality UCAS application
Student applications are open for 2023. Please refer to the eligibility criteria for more information about who can apply. The application deadline is Friday 31st March.
Email students@in2scienceuk.org for more information and/or arrangements for a virtual presentation in your school.
