Uni:4U – Ignition: Engineering
Event providers: University of Salford

On-campus & residential.
On this engineering-focused summer school, you’ll work in teams to design and make a remote-controlled race car in an adapted version of the Salford Racing Competition. You’ll do this with expert support from the University’s MakerSpace, Morson Group, and Formula Student Racing teams. Your teams will put your vehicles through their paces in different events, collecting points from each to decide the competition winners!
Day one will be all about settling in and learning key engineering skills with the Salford Racing team. Day two will focus on the design and remote-control car build, with the final day culminating in your team competing.
In the evenings you’ll have the opportunity to explore the social side of university. You’ll stay overnight in halls of residence and take part in a pub quiz and BBQ at the student union. We’ll also take you out on a team-building activity!
