Film & Media Saturday Club
Event providers: University of Salford
The University of Salford Film&Media Saturday Club will be based at the Media City Campus for 15 weeks and will explore how we tell stories and create narratives across a range of creative areas, from animation, short form documentary and radio to journalism, short form drama and social media. Explore the Media City Campus facilities and tell your stories in the university’s amazing radio studios and quays studios, have a go at operating studio cameras, design the audio, or become a presenter for a day!
In today’s world of ever developing technology and digital media, the ability to create stories is key to getting your message out there, whether it’s via factual short form, news, drama, or entertainment, it’s all about being able to communicate and tell your story with passion, creativity, and imagination.
Join the University of Salford Film&Media Club for 15 weeks of story-telling development, producing and directing and find out how to get those fantastic ideas out of your heads and into a production to produce a final product that you can show your families, teachers, and peers.
Discover how the media industry works, find out how to operate a camera and make a new bulletin for the 6pm news, find out about the different roles there are in the media and how to get a career in the creative industries! All this is delivered by our industry expert staff in the spectacular setting of our Media City Campus, next door to the BBC, Dock10 and ITV!
Club members will also take part in national events including Masterclasses with leading industry professionals and the Summer Show, where Saturday Clubs nationwide exhibit their work in a public exhibition – all for free!
We look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to our Media City Campus!
