Explore your Planet is back!

The Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Manchester invites all Year 12 and 13 students studying Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geology, Environmental Science and Geography to join them on the 8th December for this years ‘Explore your Planet Day”!

Learn more about how your A-Level subjects can lead you into exciting and challenging disciplines that remain vital to the future of our planet.

Hear from Professor Chris Jackson (Chair of Sustainable Geoscience) on his overview of planet Earth, after the success of his Royal Society Christmas Lecture last year, and his brand-new Audible Podcast “A Grown-Ups Guide to Planet Earth”.

Attend one of a range of subject talks, where academics will link the topics on your A-level syllabus to their cutting-edge insights, helping to transform the world around us for the better.

This event will be followed by an opportunity for an inward visit in June 2022, where students will be able to visit the University and take part in hands-on masterclasses in their subjects. Some funding will be available to fund WP students in Greater Manchester transportation costs for their visit, details will follow.
