English Literature Festival – Martin Green – Actor and Director Shakespeare in Performance

Meet actor / director, Martin Green, as he talks about Shakespeare, the Elizabethan/Jacobean eras and the writer’s enduring appeal to audiences today. Explore what theatre was like in Shakespeare’s lifetime. See how an actor prepares for playing roles in ‘Romeo & Juliet’, ‘Macbeth’ and ‘Othello’. Take part in exercises that will make you think about how to direct an actor and stage a play – learning how to bring a text to life. Session will last for 1 hour 30 minutes, incorporating short written/oral classroom activities for the students.
Sessions suitable for Y10-11 and Y12-13. (GCSE English Literature / AS & A Level English Literature).
