Childhood Studies Taster Session
Event providers: Stockport College

Ideal for learners who wish to pursue a career working with young people.
In this workshop learners find out what it would be like studying Childhood Studies, looking at an overview of the course but also giving the learners a taste of the course by exploring a topic within the course: crime and deviance. Activities in this session improve understanding of the learners and their peers in a group setting and on an individual basis. Furthermore, the workshop emphasises “soft skills” such as behaviour, empathy, co-operation, inter group and interpersonal development, which can be applied in a variety of situations and environments.
The workshop will also discuss and explore careers that can be pursued upon completing your degree, and there will be a chance to speak to current or former students.
