Students will gain an understanding of some of the practical elements in Hair and Beauty along with tips and tricks for bridal hair, make up techniques and henna art.

This is known to be an inspiring session.

How to progress into the industry and also reflect on the various transferable skills combining beauty skills with business and its challenges. Learners will reflect on where their current path could take them, possible boundaries and be encouraged to think broadly about the range of opportunities available to them.

There will be an eye makeup demo looking at techniques and use of makeup. We will ask for a staff volunteer.

There will be a segment where students have to design a Henna Art on a piece of paper. The winning design is chosen by the Tutor and then applied onto the hand of a staff volunteer.

Hair techniques and designs – tips and tricks are talked about during the session – mainly for bridal hairstyles and proms.

• Space also required for beauty demos in front of the class.

ONLINE SESSION:

If choosing the virtual session (pre-recorded), it is in 2 parts:

Session 1:

1 hour – This would be a pre-recorded link with demos, industry info and tasks. The teacher can follow up with any tasks and the video can be stop started as and when needed for the duration of the session.

The link will be exclusive to the school and only accessible for a whole morning or afternoon (on request for a specific date) via an online video link and thereafter will become offline once the session time has passed.

During this session the students will also have a task to draw a Henna Art on a piece of paper – hand template will be sent along with the link as an attachment to the teacher to print out for the students. The teacher can decide which one is the overall winner. The design would be sent back to the workshop leader to create the design. This will then be created and filmed to show the students at a later stage as part of session 2.

Session 2:
30 mins – A new short video would be created exclusively for the class with the winning Henna Art being produced (with commentary) and sent back to the school to watch in their own time.
