Understanding Retail Banking

Students will get a brief overview of the world of banking, specifically looking at the world of retail banking on the high street. This session looks at the different types of products on offer, routes into banking, required skills to thrive in the industry and challenges retail banking faces.

Through interactive activities, students will: learn the difference between corporate and retail banking, gain an understanding of how banks work and the money flow, think about the various roles and responsibilities within retail banking, and gain an insight into budgeting and managing their own money.
